Committee of Management

Although the Bank appears to have had a Committee of Management from its inception, the members of the committee were only consistently listed in the Annual Reports from 1837. In the prior years (1827 to 1836), the Committee members were only detailed in 1832 and 1834. The following table lists the 89 committee members named in those 28 Reports. The number of members in the committee varied from 12 (in 1832 and 1834) to 35 in 1839. Joseph Frederick Ledsam (1791 - 1862) was a member of most committees (27), his service being curtailed by his death.
