The Bank's first purchase of Home Safes was a batch of 2,500 that were made to the Bank's specifications by the Birmingham firm of Wilkins & Wright. A book was printed to record the receipt and distribution of the safes - this book contained 66 pages, each listing the initial history of 25 Home Safes. Page 1 (above) shows that the first safes (individually numbered from 1 to 25) were received from the manufacturer on November 16th 1922. These 25 safes were part of 100 safes that were issued to Head Office on December 1st 1922.
 
Page 66 of the record book (below) shows that Head Office branch also received the last of the 1,650 safes - these were received from Wilkins & Wright on January 3rd 1923 and issued to the branch on January 25th 1923.

NOTES:
(1) Home Safe Number 1 was initially issued to Ronald E Watt (see below) - Head Office Account Number 12332.
(2) Home Safe Number 1396 was issued to Miss Helena M Edge - Head Office Account Number 19993.
