An example of an early type of Passbook with transactions from 1927 to 1946.
The account was
the 325th opened since Pype Hayes branch
commenced business on March 12th 1927.
The account was opened by a parent or guardian
for a Minor, i.e. a child under the age of seven,
the passbook being annotated "Infant" accordingly.
Continuous small deposits,
from September 1927 to July 1938,
were made until the amount of £6-1-6d had been saved.
The deposits would have been accumulated in
Home Safe number 74690.
By May 1946, a balance of 4/6d is left on the account.
If this balance was then left untouched the account
would eventually be designated as "Dormant".
Alternatively, the passbook may have been reported as lost,
a new passbook issued, and
the account closed.
