Advertising

Subsequent to the BMB changing its status to become a Trustee Savings Bank (TSB) in 1976, local Birmingham advertising was replaced by national TSB advertising. During the 1970s, TSB's advertising was based on the famous actor Gordon Jackson ('Hudson' in the then popular TV series Upstairs, Downstairs). In the image below, Gordon Jackson is shown on the right, below the recently adapted TSB logo.
In 1976, new advertising was introduced; it was based on the phrase "It's the bank for me",
or in the case of a TV Jingle:  "It's the one for me"
